History and milestones
The Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in China was recognised by the Chinese authorities on 26 June 2000 in Beijing. On 1 February 2001, the Spanish authorities officially recognised the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in China. That same year, our Chamber became a founding member of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China.
In October 2001, it also joined the network of Official Spanish Chambers of Commerce Abroad (CAMACOES network). Later, in April 2002, the Association of Spanish Business People in Shanghai joined the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in China. In January 2003, an office was opened in Guangdong Province. In February 2009, the Guangdong office was renamed the South China division. In November 2014, it was admitted as a member of FEDECOM (Federation
of Spanish Chambers of Commerce). At the same time, through its activities the Chamber promotes and strengthens Spain’s image in China
Spanish Business Association in China. A group of business people launched the idea of a business association in mid-1995, with the support of the Spanish Embassy and the Commercial Office in Beijing.

November 2011 – The Spanish Chamber takes part, together with the German, Belgian, British, European, French and Italian chambers and Eurochamber, in the EU-funded project EU SME Centre, the European SME support centre in Beijing (Nov 2011 – Nov 2013)
Since 2000, a benchmark in supporting companies and individuals from both countries.
